Holy Days
The Twelfth Day of Ridvan celebrates the Most Great Festival, the final Holy Day of Ridvan, which commemorates the momentous days during which Bahá'u'llah declared His mission to His companions. Bahá'u'llah and His companions spent twelve days in the Garden of Ridvan, which means Paradise. On this Holy Day we celebrate the 12th Day when He left that garden, having been exiled by the government, to move away from His native land of Persia.

12th Day of Ridvan- Everyone is invited to the 12th Day of Ridvan commemoration to be hosted by the Bahá'i Community of Ventura. Thursday, May 1st, 7:30 p.m., at the Centner Residence 7550 Henderson, Ventura. 647-5153 for directions.

Declaration of the Bab "I am, I am, I am the Promised One." In 1844, on May 23, the Bab made his Declaration, and began his short but powerful ministry to prepare the people for the one who was to follow him, Bahá'u'llah. The Anniversary of the Declaration of the Bab will be held by the Bahá'i's of Camarillo. Call the Bahá'i Information phone for details on the time and place, 648-1222.

Ladder to the Soul
The music of Bob Alcivar

Bob Alcivar and Lisa Janti have brought us wonderful recordings in the past that combine the sacred words of Bahá'u'llah recited by Lisa with beautiful compositions written and produced by Bob. This latest recording represents a slight departure from earlier works. Whereas its compositions have been written to underscore identified passages from the Bahá'i writings, this entire CD is an instrumental one. Enhanced by the soul-stirring flute of Sam Most, Ladder To The Soul combines a mixture of tones that range from somber reflection to unwavering joy—sometimes at the same time. A delightful CD to just "have on" and a perfect addition to the musical selections for devotions. CD $15: running time 72 minutes.
