Book Review:
The Bahá'í Faith has published numerous statements about global social issues. One of the most important is "The Promise of World Peace" written by the Universal House of Justice "To the Peoples of the World" in October 1985. It outlines the prerequisites for peace, such as the emancipation of women and eliminating extremes of wealth and poverty. It states, "World order can be founded only on an unshakeable consciousness of the oneness of mankind, a spiritual truth which all the human sciences confirm." It asserts "World peace is not only possible but inevitable." The Promise of World peace is available by calling the local Bahá'í information number, 648-1222. Additionally, all Bahá'í books can be ordered through the Bahá'í Distribution Service (800-999-9019) or by calling Pete Quick at 659-4660. A great wealth of information on the Bahá'í Faith, it’s beliefs, principles, and history, can be found at: www.us.bahai.org. Try it out!
