Study Circles:

Reflections on the Life of the Spirit is a course offered in Ventura by the Southern California Regional Training Institute under the sponsorship of the Bahá'í's of Ventura. Many have found it a chance for gaining spiritual insights among a community of loving friends.

The group will begin studying quotations from Bahá'í scripture to acquire understanding of the writings especially about serving others through "pure and goodly deeds".

The next lessons are about prayer--what is it, what are the implications and benefits, and what approach do we take in entering a state of prayer to feel the joy of being near God.

The last unit "Life and Death" is about the capacities of the human soul to progress towards God in this world and the next world. Participants are also expected to share experiences in the arts and a service project. The Study Circle will have 6 to 10 members and meet at 134 Carr Dr at corner of Cameron, one block east of Ventura Ave. Fee is $15 that includes book.

The course requires a commitment to most of 12 weekly three-hour sessions usually on Friday nights. Exact dates, times and location(s) will be decided at first session. For more information or to register, call Jan Okuma, 642-0822.
