The purpose of the Oxnard-Ventura Bahá'í News is to provide information about the Bahá'í Faith and activities of the Bahá'í's to those who wish to learn more or attend Bahá'í devotional gatherings. Sheltering Branch
In January the Brilliant Stars will be practicing the Virtue of Friendliness, and learning about the Bahá'í Faith. The Dawn Breakers will be studying Faith and Trust in God and developing Love for God. Please plan to come early to join in Devotions and Deepenings! Upcoming Events
6th Annual All Faiths Women of Vision Conference, Sunday, January 19th, in the afternoon at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church on Loma Vista in Ventura. Call Karen Anderson at 525-0575. Welcome to all! 1-4 p.m., $10, students no charge. Keynote speaker is Dr. Trudy Tuttle Arriaga. Dr. Martin Luther King Day Join us Monday, January 20th! The March beings at Plaza Park at 8:00 am, rain or shine (and it often rains!) and ends at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center on Hobson Way where a program will be at 9:00 am. The entry fee is $5, the program is about two hours. There is an exhibit room with various booths; including a Bahá'í booth, and refreshments. Call 653-6011 to arrange carpools. Ruhi Course A Training Institute study circle open to everyone will begin in January for the course "Reflections on the Life of the Spirit". It coversunderstanding spiritual writings, prayer, and life and death. Friday night meetings til around mid-April at Tuman home in Oxnard. Participants (maximum 10) develop close friendships while studying the Bahá'í sacred writings, enjoying the arts, and carrying out a service project. Cost is $15.
